Upcoming Events

We organize various events every month revolving around culture or politics. From game nights to scientific lectures: there's something for everyone! Come by and meet your fellow students.

White Fragility

We need to talk about racism: what it means to be white in our society. Efpraxia Dermitzaki takes a critical look at the book White Fragility from Robin DiAngelo .
No previous knowledge is necessary, just a willingness to deal with the topic of racism in an open and unbiased way.

In this event, we first want to present the central ideas of the much-cited book and discuss them together: What does white fragility mean and how does it manifest itself in everyday life? How can we learn to deal constructively with critical feedback in order to enable real change? In the course of this, we also want to address the criticism of Robin DiAngelo's work and enter into an exchange about it.

Selfdefence Workshop FLINTA*@Campus

The goal of the workshop is self-empowerment and the strengthening of marginalized groups. Participants will explore initial de-escalation strategies and defense techniques to build more confident responses in discriminatory situations. The workshop is designed to be a “braver space.”

The focus of the workshop is on building self-confidence and dealing with intrusive situations. Together, we will explore how to feel strong and safe, and how to communicate and assert personal boundaries.

  • How do I deal with intrusive or inappropriate behavior?
  • How can I feel stronger and appear more confident?
  • Which basic self-defense techniques can I use in an emergency?

Basic self-defense techniques will be practiced hands-on, and we will discuss the connection between self-defense and self-empowerment.

The workshop is offered in cooperation with the Equal Opportunity Offices of RWTH and FH Aachen, as well as the Sports Department of the Aachen universities.

Note: We recommend wearing comfortable (sports) clothing to participate.

DIY Insect Hotels

"Small Houses for Nature's Big Helpers - Building Insect Hotels together"

Wild bees, ladybugs & friends may be small, but they play a huge role in our ecosystems – pollinating plants, controlling pests, and maintaining ecological balance. Unfortunately, they’re finding fewer and fewer safe places to live. That’s where we come in!

Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll build free insect hotels that you can take home with you. Whether for a garden, balcony, or windowsill – every shelter makes a difference! All tools and materials will be provided, along with easy-to-follow instructions and a short introduction to the importance of insects for our environment. No prior experience is needed – just bring your curiosity, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Come by, get involved, and help create a small but meaningful step toward more biodiversity right outside your door!
