The Finance Department is primarily responsible for managing the finances of the AStA, as the name might already suggest. It prepares the budget and ensures that it is adhered to. The student body contributions are managed by the Finance Department and, in accordance with the contribution regulations, are allocated to the respective designated recipients, such as the student councils.

Another key area is the semester ticket. The Finance Department, together with the executive board, takes part in negotiations regarding the semester ticket. This enables you to travel comfortably and easily throughout Germany. For most students, the semester ticket is one of the greatest benefits of being enrolled. However, there are periods during your studies when using the ticket is not possible. Under certain conditions, a refund of the mobility fee is available — for example, during an internship, a semester abroad, a leave of absence, or in the case of de-enrollment. The processing of these refund applications also takes place within the Finance Department.

The student councils (FSRs) are one of the most important responsibilities of the Finance Department. After the university elections, the authorized financial officers of the FSRs are trained by the Finance Department and supported throughout the entire legislative period. The Finance Department assists the FSRs with issues related to **student council finances** and helps ensure that they remain capable of taking action.

In addition, the finances and business operations of the "Delta t" in Jülich are also managed.
