Social Affairs

The Social Affairs Department, with currently four staff members, addresses all social concerns of the student body at FH Aachen. Whether it's study financing, housing, sustainability, or studying under special circumstances, the scope of work is broad and regularly adapts to current conditions.

During weekly office hours, we provide counseling for BAföG and student financing, with specially trained staff available to address questions about finances, housing benefits, and living in Aachen. Additionally, we are happy to assist with other inquiries, such as studying with children, studying with disabilities, or support for international students. The Social Affairs Department collaborates closely with the Family Office of the university, the representation for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, the psychosocial counseling center, and the International Office. Rest assured, all your inquiries will be treated with strict confidentiality.

Since 2020, the Office for Ecology and Sustainability has been working to promote a greater consideration and integration of sustainability aspects across the university.
