Social Affairs
The Social Department currently has six employees who are committed to the social concerns of the student body. Our broad spectrum of tasks ranges from student financing and BAföG to ecology and sustainability, studying with children and housing, as well as anti-discrimination and anti-racism work. In doing so, we flexibly adapt to current developments and needs in everyday university life. The Social Department currently has six employees who are committed to the social concerns of the student body. In doing so, we flexibly adapt to current developments and needs in everyday university life.
We work closely with the student union - such as the BAföG office and the social counseling service - as well as with the family office, VBecks and the equal opportunities office at FH Aachen to provide students with the best possible guidance and support.
The Student Finance Advisory Service is available to answer your questions about BAföG and finances during agreed consultation hours. In addition, we at the Social Welfare Office are also happy to advise you on topics such as studying with children or experiences of discrimination.
In addition to providing advice, the Social Department organizes various projects and events. These include the Campus Garden in Eupener Straße, the FLINTA*-Campus-Eventswhich rotate through the various campuses, as well as the Sustainability Dayswhich encourage a more conscious approach to the environment and resources. In addition, the Ecology and Sustainability department is committed to anchoring sustainable structures throughout the university and plays a key role in the recertification as a Fairtrade university.
