This year's AStA summer party took place on 16.06.2024 and was a complete success! With over 300 participants, the campus was transformed into a colorful spectacle full of joy, new encounters and exciting activities.

The variety of initiatives represented was particularly impressive, offering students a wide range of insights and experiences. The AixRacing team attracted numerous motorsport enthusiasts with their racing car and a driving simulator. A real highlight was also the Flugwissenschaftliche Vereinigung Aachen (FVA), which was on site with its 18-meter-wide glider and captivated many visitors. The Roboteam also had the opportunity to show off their latest robots, while Arbeiterkind.de provided important information for prospective first-time graduates, helping to break down barriers and open up opportunities. The Queerreferat provided refreshments and a good mood with their delicious cocktails and mocktails.

Another highlight of the party was the joint live broadcast of the European Championship opening game “Germany vs. Scotland”, which created an exuberant atmosphere. The auditorium in the D building was able to withstand the applause for the five goals against Scotland. Unfortunately, the atmosphere alone did not help Germany to win the European Championships - perhaps we will have better luck at the next summer party in four years' time. :)

Of course, the physical well-being was not to be neglected. Despite a small faux pas with the slightly too salty chips, which didn't detract from the fun, the catering was excellent. The demand for vegan sausages was also well met. The beer stock had to be refilled several times to satisfy the thirst of the soccer fans - a clear sign of a lively and joyful atmosphere.

The summer festival proved once again how important such events are for student life. It was a day full of positive experiences, new acquaintances and unforgettable moments. The well thought-out organization and the wide range of activities on offer contributed significantly to ensuring that everyone got their money's worth.

One student put it in a nutshell:

“I just wanted to say thank you for the party. I thought it was really well organized and everyone in our group had great fun. The atmosphere in the hall at the game was really better than every time I've been to the stadium.”

This statement sums up the atmosphere of the day perfectly - a mixture of community spirit, excitement and enjoyment.

We are already looking forward to the next summer party and are excited to see what surprises and highlights await us then. A big thank you to everyone who took part - you made this day something very special!
