The semester ticket will become the Germany ticket!
The semester ticket is now valid nationwide! After lengthy negotiations with the authorities, you can use local transport in second class throughout Germany this semester at no additional cost. Additionally, you can use all Arriva buses and trains in the regional transport network of South Limburg. The semester ticket allows unlimited travel on all bus and train lines (RE/RB/S-trains, buses, trams, city and underground trains) within the fare zones of the Germany ticket. In the AVV, this also includes cross-border lines to Vaals (lines 25, 33 & 350), Kelmis Bruch (line 24), Kerkrade (line 34), Avantis industrial area (line 74), and Sittard (line SB 3). Attention: Due to the transition to the Germany ticket, all chip cards must be updated at a ticket machine or a sales outlet of ASEAG. You have until the semester start on March 1 to do this; otherwise, you will travel without a valid ticket. More information can be found on the ASEAG website.

With the expansion of our semester ticket, you can use local transport throughout South Limburg. This includes certain train lines, all Arriva city buses in Maastricht, Parkstad, and Sittard-Geleen, as well as all regional lines in South Limburg. You can find a complete overview on the ASEAG website. hier.
Lines from TEC or DeLijn can not be used.
Sittard is the only station in the region with gates. These cannot be opened with the semester ticket. Next to the gates, there is an information column where you can press the "i" button to request the opening of the gates. On your way back, you can ask at the service store, where you will receive a QR code to open the gate.
If you encounter any issues with the acceptance of your semester ticket during a ticket check on the train or when boarding the bus, it's best to refer to the informations on the arriva website (in dutch). Here, there is a document from Arriva explaning in Dutch regarding the design of the AVV chip card..
