The AStA is represented by the Executive Board. It coordinates the work between the departments and serves as a spokesperson for students, the university, and the public. The Executive Board consists of two to four members: the chairperson of the AStA, one or two deputy chairs, and the finance officer. It is the employer and therefore has authority over the approximately 30 AStA members. This entails complex personnel management. However, it is even more important to always have an open ear for any issues arising among all AStA members. The Executive Board concludes contracts on behalf of the student body or negotiates the best possible options for students, such as the semester ticket or legal advice. Representation within the university includes not only representing the AStA in the Student Parliament and the Senate but also representing students to the rectorate and other members of the administration.
