Fairtrade University
As a Fairtrade University, we are committed to promoting fair trade at various levels of the institution. This includes providing Fairtrade coffee and tea at student and academic committee meetings, as well as organizing regular events focused on the topic of fair trade.
After the AStA initiated the project in 2020, FH Aachen was awarded the title of Fairtrade University in June 2023 following successful collaboration between students and the university administration.

Every semester, we organize at least two exciting events on the topic of fair trade for you. Here, we share some impressions from previous years.
Fair prize wheel
At a quiz during the Augustinerbachfest, you had the chance to win a Fairtrade cotton bag and fair chocolate.
Vegan cooking night
After a lecture on fair trade bananas, we cooked a delicious vegan banana curry together.
Weltladen presentation
The Weltladen Aachen gave a lecture on the role of fair trade shops in fair trade as part of the Sustainability Days.
Nikolaus quiz
During the Sweet Revolution, you had the chance to win a chocolate Santa by participating in a quiz about Fairtrade chocolate on Eupener Straße.

Fairtrade im Delta t
Das Delta t ist ein vom AStA organisiertes Studierendencafé am Campus Jülich – nachhaltig, alternativ und engagiert.
Ob zum kurzen Abschalten, für Gespräche unter Kommiliton*innen oder als Treffpunkt zur Verabredung vor der nächsten Lerngruppe: Das DELTA t ist ein Sozial- und Kulturraum, in dem Austausch, Beteiligung und studentisches Engagement auch in Zusammenarbeit mit der KSG (Katholische Studentengemeinde Jülich) und dem INterkulturelles Centrum Aachener Studierender Jülich (INCAS) im Mittelpunkt stehen.
Das DELTA t versteht sich als alternative Versorgungsquelle auch außerhalb der Mensa-Öffnungszeiten – mit Fokus auf ökologisches Bewusstsein und soziale Verantwortung. Angeboten werden unter anderem Fairtrade-Kaffee, Snacks und Getränke.
Der Betrieb lebt vom Einsatz freiwilliger Helfer*innen – neue Gesichter aus der Studierendenschaft sind jederzeit willkommen, ob hinter der Theke, bei der Organisation von Events oder mit neuen Ideen. Ehrenamtliche Mitgestaltung bedeutet hier nicht nur Engagement im sozialen Umfeld, sondern auch praktische Einblicke in Organisation, Teamarbeit und Projektmanagement.
