Fairtrade University
As a Fairtrade University, we are committed to promoting fair trade at various levels of the institution. This includes providing Fairtrade coffee and tea at student and academic committee meetings, as well as organizing regular events focused on the topic of fair trade.
After the AStA initiated the project in 2020, FH Aachen was awarded the title of Fairtrade University in June 2023 following successful collaboration between students and the university administration.

Every semester, we organize at least two exciting events on the topic of fair trade for you. Here, we share some impressions from previous years.
Fair prize wheel
At a quiz during the Augustinerbachfest, you had the chance to win a Fairtrade cotton bag and fair chocolate.
Vegan cooking night
After a lecture on fair trade bananas, we cooked a delicious vegan banana curry together.
Weltladen presentation
The Weltladen Aachen gave a lecture on the role of fair trade shops in fair trade as part of the Sustainability Days.
Nikolaus quiz
During the Sweet Revolution, you had the chance to win a chocolate Santa by participating in a quiz about Fairtrade chocolate on Eupener Straße.

Fairtrade in the Delta t
Delta t is a student café organized by the AStA on the Jülich campus—sustainable, alternative, and community-minded.
Whether you’re looking to unwind for a bit, chat with fellow students, or meet up before your next study group: The DELTA t is a social and cultural space where dialogue, participation, and student engagement take center stage—in collaboration with the KSG (Catholic Student Community of Jülich) and the Intercultural Center for Aachen Students in Jülich (INCAS).
DELTA t serves as an alternative dining option even outside of the cafeteria's regular hours—with a focus on environmental awareness and social responsibility. Among other things, it offers Fairtrade coffee, snacks, and beverages.
The club thrives on the dedication of its volunteers—new faces from the student body are always welcome, whether behind the bar, helping to organize events, or contributing new ideas. Volunteering here means not only getting involved in the social scene, but also gaining practical insights into organization, teamwork, and project management.
